Nokia HERE v1.0.175 Beta Requirements: 4.0+ Overview: It's fun to try and discover and have a clear design. However, I personally think that in many ways is far from Google Maps. There are a number of details, but that together offer a different experience. Yes, the added download offline maps for countries offers a plus to consider.
Anyway I say that is my opinion, so I try it and you will tell me what you think in the comments. Anyway to get to know Android and being able to try it since it's big news.Enjoy it!
And for a free app it is not a bad one.
Maps are up-to-date and you can use them offline. The maps use up a lot off storage space. Whole of Europe is about 9gb. But you can download only the countries you like/need.
Skins look OK. There's enough information availeble. But I prefer the nightskin a bit darker.
Traffic support is availeble but I couln't test it. You need to be online to get this. And I tested it on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 wit Androoid 4.4.2.
Like I said, for a free app it's not bad. But if it wasn't free, I wouldn't buy it. There are better ones on the market.
I will send a PM to uploder too so he can fix his wrong upload information from Requirements: 4.0+ to Requirements: 4.1+ if uploader will not respond or the information will not be changed, I will look for other ways to get other staff/site owner attention to this thread.
I have an LG G2 with 4.4.2. I downloaded it sometime ago and set it up for offline usage. Tried it for the first time today.
I think it is pretty good for something that is basic and free. It did the job for me. Voice directions clear, map good.
I still have my tomtom though but I think Nokia Maps is great if my tomtom is not around.
