Whats up with the download area?

whats happening with the PAID members download area there has been nothing new added for a very long time. Did we waste our money? I think so.

Re: Whats up with the download area?

Arrgh, I wish I had of read your posting palal, before I JUST paid for a 2 year subscription.

I was a member of the previous GPS Underground forum before it suffered the fate of shutting down and the remainder of my paid subscription being lost. That version of this site was great, it had all the files available in the paid download area.

Now you pay and get no new updates to download, at least that's what it appears. A lot of the links to 3rdparty download areas are no good, nothing to download there either, as the administrators of those sites have removed the files. Hopefully the administrators of this new GPS Underground forum can improve the download area to include all the latest files, or refund the paid subscriptions of members. I know I don't feel as though I have got anything for my 2 year subscription!

Re: Whats up with the download area?

As paid members it seems we are getting nothing more than normal members and paying for the privilege! at the very least the download area should be updated with something new, but all the newer stuff is in open forum for anyone to download.
I think an explanation is in order at the very least....?!

Paying is much cheaper than getting maps etc from tomtom , but if non paying people get the same stuff why??

Although I am in danger of repeating myself from a couple of other threads, I too would like an explanation. Why are there no updatede files in the download area? The latest TomTom files are 855, yet 865 have been available in the open forum for some time. To get them you have to pay again to some download site - unless you have an urge to download at speeds like we did with 56k modems. And then you get them chopped up into several files, and usually, at least one is corrupt, so you can start over. So, to quote another thread: Why am I a paying member? As far as I know, gpsunderground is not a charity, so I paid to get some maps for my navigation system. And preferably not old ones.
So it would be nice if someone would give us an explanation.

I have been complaining about the very same thing for months and got no answer, I found it better to subscribe to fileserve, at least you get what you pay for.
If this was a British forum they would be in trouble by now, but as its not, they do what they want and get away with it.
The last time I complained they removed my post, I suppose they don't like bad comments. ###

    No idea what happened.
I got no reply from Admin for several messages sent too.
I can only post but can't edit or add any of the sections in Paid Members Area.
I have been annoying for the past few months.

Just got a message from GPSU knowing his retirement.

When you take some money for a service and do not give it, that is called the swindle

    Admin will answer your question.
I am more frustrated than you in fact being Paid Member myself.
I am getting nothing at all totally.
