I have used your link to get the navigation discs but I know have 2 x 7GB files.
One is 86271-VU53A5.IMG and the other is 86271-VU53A7.ISO.

Is this correct as the original post say the files are around 4GB.

Yes thats correct. You saw it was 4gb because files uploaded to usenet are mostly packed with Winrar. That decreases the upload time.
Its even possible to press 7gb into 1000mb. It depends on the uploaders choise.
Just burn them as advised in previous posts and have a ride.

Hello,
Last year (that is 2011) I could easily burn the Audi RNS-E 2012 dvd using my macbook pro and the Verbatims DL's and worked fine.

This year I could also easily burn them (no faults during burning process) and the same mbp but when I put them in my car's dvd player it says "Unknown file" (Onbekend bestand - Dutch) - please insert dvd navigation dvd.

What am I doing wrong? I burned the 86271-VU53A5.IMG file or should I burn the .mds file that came with it? Did I need to give the disk a name ?

I have strange problem i don't know why this dvd doesn't work ...
I recorded few dvd every year from 3 years on Verbatim DVD+R DL with my lite-on recorder iHAS124 with DVD-ROM booktype and it was working every years "update
This year I've got RNS-E DVD 2013 with file name 86271-VU53A7 and after few seconds of displaying map it shows an alert on red colours: CD/DVD unreadable please insert Navigation DVD. Why is it not working? What can be an issue? Any ideas or question free to try or answer Actual Software (if I'm right) in my A3 is 0650 ... or something like this. Edition 2012 made on the same rules and with the same program ImgBurn but I updated this year imgburn. I'll get You know if it helps to install previous imgburn

Problem probably solved (I have to test this dvd in 100%) ... the problem was in newer version of imgburn. I backed imgburn to version 2.5.6. This dvd didn't worked on 2.5.7 version of imgburn...
