the firmware disc will be required once you have changed the coding. I suggest to browse navcoder's homepage there is a plenty of useful information there for you about the whole procedure , why & how etc.

if you can find anything for vdo dayton.. but that is unlikely.. or old lincoln navigator cd version (MY 2000-2002 , last map cd release 2004)

I don't think so, there is no coverage for any south american country for mk4
