MyGIG RER to REW converting

Hi,

I'm looking for a way to convert a MyGIG (Dodge Challenger SRT8 2009) to a REW (European maps).

The car is imported from US (RER type) and needs to be converted to European standards (REW).

I guess there are 2 steps that are needed to convert
- Change the system to REW ( European radio freq. , european formats, ...)
- Change the maps to European maps.

Where can I find a navteq link for a REW?

Has this being done before?


I don't know if I had to put this on Chrysler-Jeep subpost since there was none for Dodge or Mygig

There is no way to convert the unit
The only solution is to completely replace it which by itself is a major operation since it would seem connection and physical dimensions are not the same and you may also encounter problems with encoding the European unit is a US import

Your best bet would be an after market unit, most of which outwit the poorly designed REJ anyway!

Well there are some companies that are able to convert it. If I would know what they are doing I can try the same. (http://www.customtronix.com )
Also I found a forum to change the firmware (but no maps) . http://mofv.com/mygig/

If I can change the firmware then I still need the maps. And again I don't know if they are linked to anyway to the vehicle CANbus data.

Yes they are doing more or less the same as customronix. However I had a price quote from customtronix that was much cheaper then the one from carperformance.se.

However if they can do it then I think it should be possible for us to do it also.
Thing that are required is (firmware upgrade, navteq european maps for mygig)

Hi true but only the map cost about 200 euro, Carperformance is cheaper they charge 349 euro for a conversion

Customtronix are the best at this. They offer a fast service if you opt for the postage included service. I have used them at least a dozen times at work for this exact same thing and each time the job has worked a treat.

It works perfectly. You cannot tell it has been modified.
