Wondering what the diff is between 702e and and 702a apart from the Aus- European bit. Half way through last year Ed1 posted that he had no probs with 702 e just putting in new maps and go, I just tried with the supplied sd card and the thing comes up with a licence error. I put the old maps back on from a back up that I did and all was well again. So I grabbed another sd card and put the backed up files on it and licence error again.. It came with 3 year free maps but the damned thing wont hook up to naviextras prog. I have put in a ticket with them but I still would like to make a backup that works. The old Chinese GPS were easy to update with Primo etc.
"1. Download original NX702E card
2. Download NX502 card
3. extract NX702E , put RTnavi directory and device.nng files directly to SDHC 8GB card
4. copy/owerwrite the MobileNavigator.exe from NX502 to sdcard/RTnavi/ directory
5. copy/ovewrite the license directory from NX502 to sdcard/RTnavi/ directory
6. add maps/poi etc to according directories on sdcard/RTnavi/content/"
Cause without replacing Mobilenavigator.exe will not accept licence.
I'm not sure, but if navigation on Clarion NX702A runs completely from SD card (iGO software + content) than it should be simple. Yo can install "cured" iGO version and you will no longer have any problems with licences or any other map updates..
Thanks to both for replies. If I can't get my 3 year free updates working this will be what I do. The cracked Chinese gps's were a lot easier to update Tho having said that, this 702 is a top bit of gear BTW janch that link is dead but I like your blog, especially the language translator
