Destinator 8.0.21.275 + Extras

hi,

i did all you have described in my moov330 (miopocket r59) but the destinator just does not start.
The screen goes blue - black and returns to miopocket screen with an error message ""skin not available".

I have also downloaded a map which was copied to the destinator\MobileNavigator folder.


destinator configuration read "'MAP_NAME=Midwest (ND SD MN WI IL KS NE IA MO)" eventhough I am trying to use a totally different map.

in addition i am not expert enough to tamper with the GPSTMC folder.
any suggestions?

Yes, the config may read something other than your maps...when the SW boots...it will update ask you to select maps.

I don't know off hand GPS settings for moov330...Anyone know? (really simple just edit .ini file with notepad and save)

the path on the card is SD\Destinator\MobileNavigator\Skin\all\480x272.
the thing is that the program does not open at all, so I can't really choose a map :-)

I think you forgot to rename folder (480x272) to all

copy 480x272 to skins folder and rename folder to all

should be
SD/destinator/mobilenavigator/skin/all

thank you very much joking, that worked.
now the second problem is that a window appears that "no map can be found".
I transfered the respective map files in a folder named map and placed within the folder contain the destinator application, but that didn't worked.
Then I placed all the map files into the destinator application folder as is (without a "map"folder) but neither that worked at all.

Any suggestions?

There should be no subfolders for the individual maps
If you are using NA...they should be in separte folders (example: midwest, northeast....and usroads)

Example: you should see folders for lang., voices, skin, midwest,northeast....usroads

If it asks for a key: see post #2 for destinator maps thread.

Yes, I did post this version before the crash. This version (8.1.20.7) was edited by developers to remove TTS. But, has TMC and SafetyCam functions. I re-added SVOX files from version 8.0.20.21.1 to make the TTS work (This is why it shows this version on the about screen).

I was hoping to develop this version more...but, safetycams D8/D9 are all encrypted, and I could not get TTS to work in other langs...so further development of skins just didn't seem worth it.

As I remember many had problems with speedcams in D9. And no success till now.
In D8 several versions were not able to manage them, but there were just one that can do it.
And this was because the D8 cams are different that D9 cams. I have now a speedcam file for D8 made by their 'official' rules. I would like to test it. Of course will post results.
I think the verson that is able to manage speedcams is either 8.0.20.21.1 or 8.1.20.7.
Moreover I do not care about TTS. I prefer even to not have it as option.

But I need a skin in order to start the program.
Are you able to provide me a skin for this version (I published the link in my last post for) for 240x240 device only ?

now it works fine (apart from some "no rural" messages which will be addressed at the destinator maps thread).

so, if I want to use another map I simply transfer in this folder all the files or it is better to delete the previous ones?

I'd delete the old maps to save on confusion...but up to you. Newer maps may not always be better for routing, but usually have newer lane info for metro areas.

The application works now and it shows the right skin and the right map, but no GPS signal is found. Do you think I should change gpstmc.ini to protocol sirf? I am using a mio moov 330.

If you travel outside your map area it should switch...most map packs contain "some kind of major roads" to connect maps. (although I have seen posts with problems crossing borders)

I'm not an expert on the moov...I'd set the gpstmc.ini to (below) and see what happens - my best guess
