Connect Double Din Unit to PC. What connections?

I have seen posted the varies tools for finding the port, baud rate, and protocol etc, by connecting the your pc to the 2 din unit.

Do they mean, connect the pc to the usb port on the din that normally connects USB memory stick to play music?

Hello again AS3, do you mean run software tools loaded from sdcard?

Here's a useful utility for scanning port & baud on most WinCE gps:

If you have Activesync running on your pc and activesync enabled on the gps, then its a matter of just connecting the two with a usb cable.

You can then launch apps like Total Commander, CeRegEditor, etc on the pc and tinker with the internals of the gps device.

If you're looking for a really useful gps software tool which runs on pc, I recommend the winCE emulator. You can evaluate most navi software on pc before moving anything to sdcard on the gps.
