2 din recomendation (From china)

Hello,

Im looking at purchasing a 2 din head unit with gps from China (ebay).

Im in Canada, so I am guessing Garmin maps are the best. What model are you guys haveing the best sucess with? I'm seeing some are running very slow.

I just don't want to purchase one and find out I waisted my money. I also just might need a bit of help getting new maps working.

Please not that we have a Section Double DIN merely to advice people never ever to consider buying this Chinese junk in the first place and if they have done so, to persuade them to dump it in the nearest trash bin.

We have never seen a properly working one, they don't want to start up, they fail at crucial moments and generally are not even worth the packaging they come in

I really appreciate the honesty. I'll call my idea a bad one, and leave it at that.

Is there any double din alternatives to china that work well? The Pioneer, etc. is a bit pricy for me.

A reasonable quality will cost you over 800 euro's

I'll go with a smaller unit with BlueTooth hands free only(This is how the whole thing started).

I dont know what you guys are talking about.
I have a chinese double din and it works flawlessly. I have no problems with the GPS the DVD works fine same with the SD,Radio and Bluetooth.
Maybe I "lucked out" but in my opinion its better than my factory stereo for sound quality.
I have the one with the 3d screen where it can rotate. Plus it has my Ford logo show on the startup screen when I start my truck.

Sorry M8 but I yhink you never had a chinese double din or even tested one.
I think you're jealouse of those who'd like buying 2-dins.
I have one from china (I don't care if it's chinese or janese o whatever..) and it works on the double.
It's running three kind of navigation systems (iGo, Ndrive and TomTom) with the Iberian maps.
The other features, DTV, DVD, Radio, BlueTooth, iPod, USB, Reverse camera are working just fine and I bought it for €280.
If we are trying to buy the same stuff with a brand (pioneer, kenwood) we'll get almost the same thing in the package but we'll pay to advertise the brand.
So in my opinion it's worth buying a 2din from china.

I have seen many, operated and tested numerous ones and only a few tend to function properly
You are completely mistaken in thinking that major brands only put their name tags to these units
Most of them come from minor production facilities that produce small batches of this junk never to care about them afterwards.
I do recognize the fact that major brands do encounter other expenditure in the way of RD and marketing but mostly the cost of official editions of the operating and navigating software that is 99.9% illegal with this Chinese junk

I believe not all chinese products are produced the same way and at the same location, some can be good too!
