Hi,

I'm not too sure how busy this community is anymore, but thought I might ask if anyone else has put their own dead-reckoning on their Kenwood KNA-G430/GVN52.

I have opened the unit to find inputs for quite a few items of interest, namely:

Gyro
Speed

I am wondering if this could be turned into a dead-reckoning system by adding an appropriate Gryo, and having a speed sense input sent to the unit.

The GPS signals will help determine direction, which then I would guess the Gyro would be able to determine if the direction has changed and assist the unit in learning direction, and the speed input would also then let the unit know how fast you are going - therefore it could work without signal for a short period of time.

Has anyone else tinkered with one of these?
