  • Remove Personal Data from image

    Remove Personal Data from image (23.08.2010)
    • Tool remove Personal Data from image and then it is secured share for others.
    • Tool use original Mapset header in new image
    • Use this simple tool first if you want share your maps

    Just copy same directory with image and run ( only one image same time )
    New image file GMAPSUPP_NEW.IMG created without Personal Data

      Thanks again P33dro, following the unlocking of the garmin img files also the stripping of the Windows computer ID from the produced image works marvelous.
      I was not aware that garmin adds the Windows ID to the img files.
      It is good knowing this.

                  I think you 3 posters above should be asking in http://gpsunderground.com/forum/garm...-1-2014-a.html as it's OT here. But wot the heck! Compared to what happening elsewhere in this forum it's not even a hill o'beans.

                  Open your img file in GMapTool. Press 'Change' tab. Check the 'Map name' box and write your preferred name in the adjoining field. Press 'Change all' or 'Change selected and it's done.

                  For the mapset name: Press 'Write' tb. Check the 'Mapset' box and write your preferred name in the adjoining field. Press 'Write all' or 'Write selected' to save, but if it fails you can always use the 'Join' tab longer method.

                  Excellent help is available on board by pressing the '?' button from either the Files or Log tabs but really the UI is very intuitive.
