    Hello,

This thread is dedicated to log all information about RDS-TMC antennas information and details before buying something which is not working in your area...
    1. The jack version (v1, v2 and v2b):
    The v1 version :

    The v2 version :

    The v2b version :

    These references are :
    - V1 : 4v00.000 or 9v00.050
    - V2 : 4v00.010.2 or 2V00.004.2
    - V2b : 4v00.011 or 2v00.005
All of them are the Europe-Australia version working on FM band. They were dedicated for :
    • Tomtom One 3rd Edition,
    • Tomtom One XL,
    • Tomtom GO 510/710/910
    • Tomtom GO 520/720/920
    • Tomtom GO 530/630/730/930

V1 and V2 shall be absolutely avoided, they are not working very well. V2b offers a very poor service. If you want to buy a RDS-TMC antenna, forget these 3 versions !

    2. The jack version (v3):

The first TT version which could be recommended. One of the fastest working version. Note that there are 2 versions available depending on your location :
    - 4V00.013 or 2V00.006 which is the Europe-Australia version working on FM band.
    - 4V00.083 or 9V00.082 which is the North America version working on AM Band.

    Dedicated for :
    • Tomtom One 3rd Edition,
    • Tomtom One XL,
    • Tomtom GO 510/710/910
    • Tomtom GO 520/720/920
    • Tomtom GO 530/630/730/930

    Key positive :
    Simple to install
    Simple to use
    Sensitivity
Fast synchronization (less than 2 mins, even after reset)
No fees to pay (except in North America)
No fees to pay in North America by using SE Navcore 9.024 from TTuser

    Key negative :
    Sucker too flexible
Straight connector (should be right angled)
No synchronization on 107.7 in France (highways)

    3. The USB version :

More recent version, but slower than the jack version. Note also that there are 2 versions available depending on your location :
    - 4V00.014 or 9V00.101 which is the Europe-Australia version working on FM band.
    - 4V00.084 which is the North America version working on AM Band.

Due to the USB connection, this device is able to work with all TT device.
    Dedicated for :
    • Tomtom One 3rd Edition,
    • Tomtom Start²
    • Tomtom One 2008 / New One Classic
    • Tomtom One IQ Routes / One White Pearl
    • Tomtom One XL,
    • Tomtom XL 2008 / XL Classic / XL Black Edition
    • Tomtom XL IQ Route / XL IQ Route Édition / XL LIVE IQ Routes
    • Tomtom XXL IQ Route,
    • Tomtom GO 520/720/920,
    • Tomtom GO 530/630/730/930
    • Tomtom GO 940 LIVE.

    Recommended mounting options :

    Key positive :
    Simple to install
    Simple to use
    Sensitivity
Fast synchronization after normal boot (15 secs)
No fees to pay (except in North America)
No fees to pay in North America by using SE Navcore 9.024 from TTuser

    Key negative :
    Poor sensitivity compare to v3
Very slow synchronization after boot after reset (14 mins)
No synchronization on 107.7 in France (highways)

    4. The combined car charger with traffic receiver :

The latest available version, also slower than the jack version but with no more cables in your car ! From my knowledge, there is two available version at this time :
    - 9UUC.002.00 (part number on box is 9UUC.002.00 and part number on item is 4UUC.001.01) which is the part number sold in Europe-Australia.
    - 9UUC.052.02 which is the part number sold in North America.

No clear information if they are the same. Note that if you contact the European TomTom support, they answered that these 2 parts are different and are only working on the continent where they are sold. But it could be a seller information in order to sell you more... And if you contact the North American support of TomTom, they will tell you that 9UUC.052.02 is compatible on all continents, Europe and North America... So we have to wait for further information from users !!!

Due to the USB connection, this device is able to work with all TT device but you will need to use the Navcore v9 to allow this receiver to work ! So if you are still working with v8 Navcores, you shall select another device or update your TT to the v9 !
    Key positive :
    Simple to install
    Simple to use
No more cables in your car
Fast synchronization after normal boot (15 secs)
Real worldwide version (with FM data implemented in North America)

    Key negative :
    Poor sensitivity compare to v3
Very slow synchronization after boot after reset (14 mins)
No synchronization on 107.7 in France (highways)
    V9 Navcore mandatory
Not working with GO x50 family (with navcore 9.061 but works with 9.430)

    5. The dedicated dock for GO x40 and x50 :

The latest available version, as faster than the jack version but with no more cables in your car ! Unfortunately only working with latest GO x40 and x50 versions. From my knowledge, there is only one available version at this time :
    - 9UCB.001.00 which is the Europe-Australia version working on FM band.

    Key Positive :
    Simple to install
    Simple to use
    Short cable for antenna
    Very good sensitivity
Operating even with no power supply
    Fast synchronization (similar to V3)
    No fees to pay
Ipod connection and audio output integrated

    Key negative :
    Price
No North American version available (tested : not working in North America)

    6. The dedicated version for GO 1000/2400/2500 :

    - 9UUC.002.01 which is sold in Europe-Australia for GO 1000
    - 9UUE.052.00 which is sold in North America for GO 2400/2500
Not tested yet…. May be a worldwide version as item #4.

    7. Alternate solution, non TomTom : The GNS Traffic box:

    Key Positive :
    Simple to use
Very good sensitivity (the best option)
Fast synchronization (faster than V3, less than 10 secs)
    No fees to pay
Still working even if you are far away from transmitter (up to 30 kms)

    Key negative :
    No USB version
    More complex to install

    Re: TomTom RDS-TMC Antennas

Just to warn North American users

I have just brought one of these USB TMC/RDS receivers off Ebay.....

    TomTom USB LT Traffic Receiver

    Model No. 4UUC.001.01

    UPC #: 104N00047FF13T

I am almost 100% sure this model is only designed to work in European countries..

When I use on the North America Mat 870.3406 , The TMC bar comes up on my GO630 , but is Red and give the error "Wrong map"

But if I switch to the UK 870.3406 map the traffic bar appears and tries to connect and download data , of course it never does , as I am located in the US and there is no data to work , but I am pretty sure it wil work in Europe.

I am using Navcore 9.026 , and the older "TMC JACK" type receiver works perfectly on my NA maps.

I myself am not really upset by this as I travel to the UK often , so I can use it then..

Just wondered if anyone else (either in the US or UK) have actually used this EXACT model?

      Hi Teddystacker,

I confirm that part number 4UUC.001.01 is a European version working over European countries and Australia too. It is equal to 9UUC.002.00 above, I update my post mentioning this information.

If somebody knows please tell me.

Hmm a strange opinion (for me)
I have received a 4UUC.001.01 version just today(!) and it has started to work with an NA map in 2 minutes from the moment I have connected it to 12V!

(I have TT920 and I use navcore 9.051 - a "universal" version from bmwdriver and an 870 NA map)
in 2 weeks there is a chance I check it in EU

(previously I have used 4V00.083 (in US) and 4V00.081 in EU with success)

          (try navcore 9.05x or better/newer!)

politdi - a great TMC guide! thanks a lot
(except info about the 4UUC.001.01 which is probably a worldwide version )

Guys, there is some contradiction here... This point has to be clarified... Any other user, maybe to help and solve this question ?
As soon as confirmed that's a worldwide version, I will update my post !!!

              Re: TomTom RDS-TMC Antennas

I agree - it would be really great to know if the 4UUC.001.01 is truly universal. It may be a bit slower but the single cable universal solution would be ideal for me. renmar, any more updates for us? Is your 4UUC.001.01 still working fine in NA?

                Re: TomTom RDS-TMC Antennas

Yes verified on West Coast, East Coast and in Canada - in NA TMC is available near big cities

In Europe it is starting to search a signal (but in my country there is no TMC ) and offers to set the frequency manually (in FM range), but someone already confirmed it works in UK!
(after flight to the East Coast it found TMC signal sooner than GPS signal

(personally I can have a chance to validate it in D,A and I during skiing season )

I have a buddy picking up a 9UUC.002.00.2 for me in Netherlands as I write this. I'll get it tomorrow here in Canada just in time for my trip to Italy where I hope it will work - pretty much has to since it was bought in Netherlands so it must work for Europe. I'm really hoping it works in Canada too but I won't know for a few weeks until I get back.

Does anyone know where I can get a FM RDS TMC antenna for my TomTom 710 to Canada?

Is this a version 3 antenna?

                        Hi Chengbin,

The link above shows a v1 version, definitively not a V3. I strongly recommend not to buy this one which is not the best option.

Here is a link to buy a cheap v3 version, working in USA Canada and compatible with your needs !

Hi! I'm just curious is it possible to use 4V00.014 (USB version) with device that is not TomTom?
In my case some Chinese device labeled Blueberry 2go430 with Igo 8.3.2.64873

I never tried this... Anyway, it will probably never work except if your Chinese device can operate with a TomTom Navcore...

Thank you! I thought because it connects via USB port that it might be some kind of universal TMC receiver packed into TomTom case.
I'll see if i can try it to see if device detects it because in my country there is no TCM but would be useful in Germany, if it doesn't work... well it's cheap

                              Thank you once again
