I don't know if you already discuss this, but I didn't find any topic about this.
For many years I managed to update the maps on my gps units, some old NUVI's and an Oregon 450 but a few weeks ago I bought also a 62 SC unit for my son and I couldn't load it with any Garmin map. I loaded it with a Topo map of my region, not a garmin one, and it worked OK, and also tried to load it with the CN Europe NT 2015.20, that I have installed in my Mapsource and also in my Basecamp but it didn't work. Also tried wit Mapinstall and always received the gps message "CAN'T AUTHENTICATE MAPS".
Tried also older versions 2014, 2013 and got always the same message...
I have those maps unlocked and they work well on every other unit, so it must be a new security issue of the new units, correct?
Is there anythnig that I can do?

When you create map with mapsource and you send it to your device with it, you must then unlock this img with gimgunlock if you like to use it.
Map unlocked in mapsource is NOT unlocked for/on device, so you must use gimgunlock on maps that have fid greater as 2200.
Same problem here, I was able to use an unlocked map on an SD in a Nuvi55. I updated the software in the nuvi and now I am unable to use the unlocked maps..
Does anyone has solved this issue? Has my device been damaged?
