    Re: Garmin MSN Direct Hack??

I cannot imagine what that "hack" would be other than to change the serial number of a GDB 50 to a value that is known to have a valid subscription. Since the service depends upon keys being transmitted to activate the particular units, faking a transmitted key would be relatively difficult. RDS-TMC is easier because the key goes into the GTM device to cause it to "unlock". The difficulty of cracking MSN Direct was considered a feature by Microsoft.

    Traffictrends and reporting

Garmin now has new nuvi models that use Traffictrends that afaik incorporated into the map itself.
The nuvi collects its own data into a sql file that is sent to Garmin everytime the unit is plugged into the computer and connected to the garmin site.

I was wondering if this still works with the unlocked maps? Can it still report the info to Garmin, and can the unit still use that info in the map?

Re: Garmin nuvi 265WT lifetime traffic

And since this is a stick thread...

    Traffic Subscription ALL EUROPE
EU ALL (FI, SE, NO, UK, BE, LU, NL, DE, FR, IT, HU, PL, SI) 132 / 0 / 0 / 1

To get this one working it`s very important to upgrade your GTM-25
Firmware to the very last firmware, otherwise it won't work !!!!
After entering the code you need to reboot the unit and reattach the
GTM-25. After that you can see all subscriptions in the traffic menu.
And NO, this is only working with the GTM-25, NOT with GTM-12, nor with
    GTM-21.

    Talking Re: Traffic Subscription

Only certain maps support Traffic, but if it is a standard Garmin map then FM traffic should work. There is no way to "block the traffic feature".
    Hope this helps.

    Traffic Trends file

Hi, I was wanting to know if anyone had any luck getting there hands on the Traffic Trends file for nuvi 3970 ? I have a Europe version on the unit but Im after the Australian trafficTrends (v3.25) – D3284000A.db (16MB) which Im told goes into the 'SQLite' folder.

I have also found out that the file name should end in G2S. D3284000A.GS2 (not D3284000A.db) and located under the G2S folder.

Can anyone help me out with this ?

    thanks

edit: I might be confusing this with the Free Traffic Alerts... Not sure if this will work down in Australia with the EU version or how it works ???
