If your Garmin device has all the speed cameras loaded as per instructions you must check that your device is set to alert you, go into settings and depending on your device turn on alarms for alert once (single tone) or continuous tone.
Since you have not mentioned what device you have I can't be more specific but try clicking on the settings (spanner) and maybe find Proximity Alarms and make sure they are ticked.

My 770 has been recalled. What do you recommend I do before I send it? Hard reset (after back-up of course)? Map removal? Does hard reset reset the maps to the original ones?

Hard reset will do nothing about any of the non-Garmin supplied maps (i.e. gmapsupp.img, gmapprom.img, gmap3d.img, nor the JCV files) installed. Only way to get them restored would be to restore from a backup which I hope you have kept if updating was done through other than Garmin purchase or download.

hi airion..good day,i just read you post here regarding on how to reset the satnav..i had a nuvi 205w and its working fine,i had two maps installed the ME map which is installed on the which is in the garmin main drive and the other map RG is in the SD card,recently when i'm trying to connect my nuvi to PC i was not able to view my SD drive only the main drive of my nuvi,i tried also to double checked whether my SD is faulty by plugging into my laptop but its working fine i see or read the contents of my SD card i was also able to view pictures from as what i can do on my nuvi before,is my slot card on my nuvi faulty?is there any ways to fix it...
