what about maps we may have obtained here, i guess it would be advisable to remove these any any personal info befor sending them in? back up and then delete?

anyone had theirs swapped yet? i got an email today suggesting i take it to a local retailer and they would "replace" the device, if this is the case are their models available now to avoid.

You have to do a hard reset to erase all security codes.

Do it by opening the back cover and find the reset button

hi, there is a reset button visible on the rear just above the sticker,i take it this is not the one to hard reset??
i read on fixya forum that pins and security destinations are exempt from master reset? not much option then
than to give it a go, cheers

hi , i drill small hole under sticker but no master reset square button on this model 310! never mind worth a try.

Hello. I have updated maps in the Garmin Nuvi 255 but since that, I can not find any address using the postcode or address search. No countries are listed even though I put maps of the whole Europe. Could someone tell me what to do? My parrents are complaining that it is useless now. Thanks

Your details are too brief to understand what is the problem.
State how you load the map - where and the name of the map file.
Map status - locked or unlocked.
Locked maps need unlocked code.
Any sign of "can't unlocked map" when starting

I cant remember how I did it as it was quite a long ago. Maps are accessible in the GPS and MapSource as I remember I was unlocking them, GPS navigates properly to the point on the map if selected manually, I does not work with postcodes or addresses though. It does not give any sign of being locked when starting, the GPS behaves in the same way it did before updating. I was using the Garmin Unlock Generator as far as I remember.
I can provide more information soon, I just need to get hold of this GPS unit :/ It's in the car now...
