I have used mine for 3 years now, and once I had to use without the card for 3 months, it doesn't have a noticeable difference.

I had a similar problem with the map, but after wasting my time for 4 days, I took mine back to the company where I bought it, and there I had the experts fix the problem, and everything has been great ever since.

Re Map.
I have a Nuvi40, have downloaded the unlocked image file, when I start the Garmin, it loads the lastest map then says 'Unable to authenticate maps, it then goers past that to the 'Where To' screen and all seems OK.

How do I get rid of the 'Cant authenticate Map'.

I've got a Zumo with lifetime updates. Also got a Nuvi with old map. Is there any way of copying the map from the Zumo to the Nuvi?
I have looked for an IMG file on the Zumo, but can't find it .... even with all filed unhidden.

Is there anyway to unlock the latest garmin maps from dvd.
I have tried everthing i can find in the forum.

Simply, the copy img from DVD to your PC or SD card then use this:
Garmin Image Unlock gimgunlock v.0.03

Ok guys

Not the end of the world but went to the US with my Nuvi 1490 (Europe map) and fully loaded SD card for North America with Junction views + City explorers
and all worked fine no problems

But wait all the way from Las Vegas to San Francisco and back down to Los Angeles without any FM traffic reports, the two little cars symbol didn’t show up once,
I did look through the settings but still no joy, So what haven’t I done is there a compatibility problem,
Ok I just know someone is going to make me look silly

Back over to Florida next year so be nice to have it working
