I'd like to build 2 level jnx. I try with JNXMERGE but it seems it doesn't support JNX v4 build with MAPC2MAPC.

JNXMERGE works with v3 maps - JNXCustomiser will change v4 to v3 without needing to recreate the whole file.

If anyone can upload a firmware version of Oregon 600 or Edge 810, I could try to take a look ...

Re: Garmin jnx file format hacking

I have for a couple of years used the firmware patcher but now want to sell my Oregon and move up to a bigger screen.

Can anyone please point me in the direction of what to do to reset the Oregon to the genuine firmware please? I really don't want to break this unit.

Is it just as simple as downloading the latest Firmware from Garmin and updating?

    Thanks

Yes. Just grab a firmware that is above or below your patched firmware level and flash it to that, factory reset it to erase setting (always good after firmware change) and you are done.

Hi, I had hardware problems on the computer where it is/was. I'll upload it somewhere else in about a week. I know, late reply...

Re: Garmin jnx file format hacking

    Hey,

I´ve used the search button but did find no answer to my question:

Is there any possibility to implement elevation information into a JNX map?

I´m not really familiar with that topic but I recently realized that my oregon just gives me detailed information about the accumulated heights (in the track view, barometer works fine of course) if I have a topo map activated. So I know that there are files which provide information about some kind of altitude model...

If somebody has experience please share...

    cheers michael

Re: Garmin jnx file format hacking

I'm just looking at upgrading JNXMERGE to write version 4 JNX files.
I assume that if either of the input files is v4 then then output will be v4.
I have a query with draw order : if both the inputs are v4 and their draw order fields are different what should the output be ? higher/lower/average
