    Re: BlueChart g2 Vision: VAF002R - South Africa v2011.5 (v13.00)

    Hi there,

I'm having a bit of a problem getting these charts to work.... (this is all a bit new to me so I could have gone wrong somewhere)....

    1) I downloaded the first 3 VAF... .rar files
    2) I extracted them into a folder
    3) I downloaded the FIU 2.1
    4) I dragged the IMG file onto the FIU file... which opened in DOS and began unlocking the files (I've tried this in C:/ directory as well)
5)... now this is where it gets hazy for me - where have those files gone - or am I correct in assuming that the IMG file that I dragged onto the FIU program is now unlocked when the FIU program closes?
    6) I then "send" the IMG file onto my microSD card, and when I insert it into my Garmin 5012 chartplotter nothing happens.... VERY FRUSTRATING!

Please could you tell me where I am going wrong...

    Thank you!!

    Re: BlueChart g2 Vision: VAF002R - South Africa v2011.5 (v13.00)

    Hello,
I am new to the forum, thanks to the creators. I stumbled on this page while google searching. I want to get some charts to use solely on my PC. On my boat I am running Navionics platinum +. I do know that the blue charts are the best marine charts and therefore want to use it for "planning" trips.

Here is the problem, I am completely (or just about) software illiterate. I see the links above but what do I do with them? Do I need to download all nine of the links above?

    Any help will be appreciated,

    Thanks
    Bennie

    Cool Sorted! Thank you!!

Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for these charts... after a second attempt I finally got them working in my Garmin 5012 Chartplotter. The problem was a missing file that I simply copied off one of my other sets of electronic charts (this must have enabled the chartplotter to read them as it simply was not "reading" them before. I'm so chuffed! Thanks again!
