amazing!!! thank you
what is vector map? is it like garmin custom maps? no routable?
he vectormap is the "normal" map and for use in all device which supported nt maps
is like tope swiss v2
all maps are routable
What you need to view the Raster map on your PC:
Installed BaseCamp. (Raster will not show on Mapsource)
The Raster map (*.img) on a SD/microSD in folder Garmin, either in your connected Garmin or on a separate, connected SD.
Once you have this connected, you should see Topo Schweiz V3 Rastermap on the left under Library in BaseCamp.
(Use your Basemap to position to Switzerland.)
Double click on ..Rastermap; it will take about a minute to start showing.
Best Scale is about 200m.
I can only see the Rastermap in 2D, not in 3d;
The Vector map displays in 3D.
The Vector map above is the same as the Topo Schweiz Vector V2.
To see the Rastermap on your Garmin Device, your device has to be Raster capable like the Oregon. See Garmin for compatibility with raster maps.(you can rename to Swiss.img and add anothe raster map like AlpenVerein.img) and see both.
I have not been able to view it with Garmin MobilePC or GarminXT on a PDA.
Alternatively you can use ImDisk to add a Virtual Removable disk using ImDisk instead of a real SD on your PC, to store your Rastermap. Make sure you tick Removable,
Just Google ImDisk..
(My thanks to Ozboss.)

As HaraldGPS suggested, I put the raster map .img file on a 4GB SD, so that I can open either Topo Schweiz V2 (vectorial map) or raster map V3 in Basecamp.
But, the thing is that printing does not work with raster map. Has anyone the same problem ?
However, I used Gmaptool software on raster map .img file to install it in Basecamp. In that case, printing works, but another problem appeared : I had to uninstall the vectorial map to view the raster map !
As HaraldGPS, I have no 3D view with rastermap, and rastermap is not routable. Is it normal ?
I'm really interested in this map.
But unfortunately I'm having troubles getting the downloads from netload.in.... would it be possible to upload it also to another provider ?
Thanks in advance...

@sergio2 You can install both the vector map and the raster map together. Install the vector map as normal (FID 1395, PID 1)and then with GMapTool install the raster map but give it another name and FID (NOT 1395) and a PID of 1 before you split it. I used FID 1396 but you can give it any FID not being used on your computer. The raster map works fine with the different FID.
It is not possible to view the raster map in 3D and it is not routable as far as I am aware. What I did was use the vector map to create a route and then open the raster and the route is superimposed over the raster map. You can then print out the raster map with route.
@grevillea01 Thank you for your advices.
I changed the FID of one of the maps in Mapsettoolkit (I used 1396 for the vector one and kept 1395 for the raster one) , so that I can view both maps.
