just a simple question ...
I managed to load successfully the unlocked map dataset on the BaseComp..
Everything is fine except that the data is in English ..(inside Basecomp)
I mean the POI data ..
How could I switch to the arabic records ?
I noticed also that when I transfer it to my Nuvi .. data is arabic !!
any idea why ?

Need your help please.

I recently bought a Garmin Nuvi 2300 LM. Tried to copy "City Navigator Middle East & Northern Africa NT 2013.10" unlocked file on to the device.

Below is what I did..

I deleted the original file "gmapprom" from .System folder & copied the "Unlocked file and renamed it to gmapprom" on same location. Issue now is that I could see the map and the roads (the car follows the route etc), but none of the close by Places like "Petrol station, Restaurants icon idicators are visible on the map itself"

Did anyone else face this issue? Help will be highly appreciated.

You need to Zoom in very close to see any map icons. If you can find places (POIs) with the search features, icons are there, they are part of the map.

Your 2300 unit does not support these files 3D, JCV, G2S. If it did, you would already have those files there for updating. Basically, if you don't already have them, you can't use them. Here are your specs.

Forgive the newbie questions, I've never updated my Garmin unit before.

I have a US bought Nuvi 200w which has USA maps internally, European maps on one card and Middle East maps on another.
It's time to update the MENA maps, so following this thread through, I have now downloaded a 110mb file which has unzipped to a file called gmapsupp.img

What do I do now, I obviously want to get the new maps and nav onto a smart card for my Nuvi to use...... advice please?

Thanks for sharing, but why don't we use torrents for sharing files, that will be much easier, much faster as compared to these file sharing sites!

You will not find a torrent link becouse people like you never post a torrent but just want somebody to seed for you, what is your contribute here??? all what you post is just request and nothing more, there are 5 posts with working links and all can be downloaded as free unregisterd user with a good speed too.

I totally understand, but I disagree with you. I am new to this forum, but in a week or so, my contribution has been modest but increasing. Not only testing invalid links, but thanking to the only post that worked. I opened a new thread which misteriously haven´t go through and reposted a valid torrent link with the same fate.

Furthermore, I try to keep a good mood everytime I post and I am sharing few maps and programs over Torrent.
