No need to JOIN the RAR files. It it the contents that get joind if necessary, not the RAR files. Extract the first one USING WIN RAR and it will automatically extract all the parts as long as the filenames are identical (except for the part number).

IF you downloaded them from different mirrors then parts may have been named a little differently buy the mirror service. That's ok, All you need to make it work is to be able to identify the next part numbered RAR. Start extracting part 1 and if it can find part 2 (or any other part after that) it will tell you what part it can't find and give you a window with a chance "browse" for the file. At that point just browse manually for the next part in the sequence and tell it which file to use next.
    Repeat as necessary.

Really having a hard time with a 2012 Kenwood DNX7190HD.

The process Garmin says to use is to go under NAV, Settings ==> About ==> Update Map

Insert a blank FAT32 formatted USB thumb drive.

It writes a file Garmin\GarminDevice.xml on the thumb drive.

Putting the unlocked files on the Thumb Drive or SD card, they are never recognized by the NAV at all.

So the directory structure looks like this:

    SD Card:\Garmin\JCV
    SD Card:\Garmin\gmap3d.img
    SD Card:\Garmin\gmapprom.img

Similar for the USB Thumb. Tried it with all the file in Root of both. No go.

It I put the unlocked files on a SD card freshly formatted FAT32 in a "Garmin" directory, it does not use them. If I do the same on the USB thumb drive, it does not recognize it. If I use the about Settings ==> About ==> Update Map it says it cannot write to the media.

Anyone get this to work on a 2012 Kenwood?

On your SD card, change that file name to gmapsupp.img

    Also,

if you get the maps working but don't see the 3D-buildings (assuming your unit suports that feature) you may have to rename the file "gmap3d.img" to "gmap3d1.img".
