Why do people struggle trying to unlock the maps & then have to ask for help, when some kind people have already done this for us?
Or am I missing something ??

I disagree. I use Mapsource probably at least once a week, mainly to draw tracks and get point-to-point distances. Also with Mapsource I can select any area, large or small, and create a one-off .img file for the Garmin GPS which means I don't need to clutter (and slow) the GPS memory with entire maps of continents that I'm never going to need...!

MapSource not support the Garmin a long time. Latest Version MapSource is version 6.16.3 as of October 25, 2010

Maps made with MS in the new device may give the wrong route, problems with search, crashes nuvi, etc........

If you know something better than the people who work for Garmin share with us

Mapsource is not map-making utility, so I'm not clear how you 'make' maps with Mapsource. Mapsource is for map 'viewing' and to create, view, and edit waypoints, routes, and tracks, and transfer data to a Garmin GPS device. In many years of using Mapsource I've not had one problem. To 'make' maps for a Garmin can I suggest cGpsMapper.

To transfer all maps or region exists: Garmin MapInstall

Think about why the Garmin stopped supporting MapSource from October 25, 2010
    Good luck with MapSource

OK, Mapsource has been replaced by BaseCamp, which is the updated map/track/contour viewing application from Garmin, and the reason why Mapsource is no longer updated. MapInstall installs maps, full-stop. I could change to BaseCamp, which would, for me, do what Mapsource does, but I tried it once and didn't like the 'whizzy' front-end. Mapsource is simple, it works, and, as you say I am lucky with it....

I just got the first rar.

It is painfully slow, and took around 4 hours for just the first rar.

Is there a torrent, where I can leave it running overnight, to download the whole shooting match?

Re: City Navigator Europe NT 2014.40

What I do not understand is that you can still download MapSource software version 6.16.3 from the Garmin website
There is no warning that the software will not work correctly with new maps.
I have looked all over the website looking for that information.
If there was a problem with the software I think there would post it in the download area......

    Code:
    http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=209#Instruct
    Code:
    Updates & Downloads
    MapSource software version 6.16.3

    as of October 25, 2010
    Notes:

WARNING: This software will not work unless you already own a MapSource product.
This version of MapSource no longer supports Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT, or Windows 2000. MapSource now requires Windows XP with Service Pack 3 or higher.
Just because they have not made a newer version of the software does not mean it will not work correctly.

If anyone can show me officially from the Garmin website that this software does not work please produce the information.
