Hello Group, does anyone know how to load bc backroads onto mapsource, topocanada sd card? This would be nice to be albe to switch between topo canada to backroads without switching the card. would help in not loosing/ misplacing etc.

I have no easy answer to you mapsource question.

Here is one solution using th GMAPTOOL to merge/join your 2 maps...

1. run the gmaptool.exe and then
2. Open the first gmapsupp.img file from wherever it's located and then
3. Open the second gmapsupp.img file from where it is located and then
4. Use the GmapTool "join all" button to merge/join your 2 maps. You will be asked to specify an output file and location for the new map so do that and name it gmapsupp.img

The maps will now be merged/joined into a single gmapsupp.img which you can now copy to your SD card as
sd:\garmin\gmapsupp.img

The merge maps on the SD card will still be individually selectable from your gps.

If both of the original maps were "unlocked", you're done.

If you run into a "can't unlock maps" issue with the GPS you can make your merged map file "unlockable" with the "Fast IMG Unlocker.exe" tool as follows

1. Copy the new gmapsupp.img from SD back to the PC (if you don't already have a copy there).
2. Run the "Fast IMG Unlocker" on the new gmapsupp.img file and it will become unlockable.
3. Copy the unlocked gmapsupp.img file back to the SD card and you should be done.

You are dealing with 3 gmapsupp.img files at the same time so keep them in separate folders or name them so you know which is which. I "think" the GMapTool only allows 8 characters in the .IMG filename.
