    Garmin CityXplorer Roma 2011.10

    Garmin CityXplorer Roma 2011.10

    Overview
Navigate the big city like your hometown with cityXplorer Rome for your street navigator. This detailed city map provides the latest roads and points of interest for the metropolitan area, plus enhanced pedestrian navigation¹ — street directions that let you use public transportation to get you where you need to go.

Get the Map Data You Need

cityXplorer Rome includes the same detailed street data and information found in City Navigator® maps. This convenient download puts the latest street maps and most up-to-date points of interest on your device, so you'll have updated local information for shopping, restaurants, hotels, entertainment, parking and so much more. Click the View Map tab for detailed coverage information.

    Navigate Public Transit¹

On compatible devices, this city map makes it easy to get around town with enhanced pedestrian navigation¹. While navigating a route, select Pedestrian mode on your Garmin device and then choose which forms of public transportation you'd like to use: walking, train, tram, bus, subway, taxi or a combination of options (where available)². Your device tells you where to walk, where to catch the bus or other transportation and how long it will take to get there. In some cities, data even may be available for transit schedules, such as subway or bus times and routes.

    Features

    * Includes the same detailed street data and information found in City Navigator® maps, the most detailed content available. Powered by NAVTEQ, a world leader in premium-quality digital map data.
    * Displays the latest points of interest, including hotels, restaurants, parking, entertainment, fuel, shopping and more.
    * Gives turn-by-turn directions on your compatible Garmin device.
    * Includes detailed information, such as turn restrictions, roundabout guidance, speed limits (compatible devices only) and other navigation features.
    * Provides enhanced pedestrian mode — street directions that use any available forms of public transportation: bus, subway, metrorail, tramway, taxi and more (compatible devices only).
    * Provides Lane Assist for compatible devices.

¹Enhanced pedestrian mode, which includes public transit information, is available on compatible devices only. Adding cityXplorer maps to a unit that does not support pedestrian navigation ONLY will allow for viewing of cityXplorer maps and points of interest and is not recommended if the city already is preloaded to your device. Only 1 region can be downloaded directly to devices that do not support pedestrian navigation. Additional regions can be downloaded to individual data cards.

²Not all forms of public transportation are available on all cityXplorer products.

    Re: Garmin CityXplorer Roma 2011.10

I'm not very familiar with this stuff so i will explain what i did.
Ok, i downloaded the original file, which is already named "gmapsupp.img".
So i used the keygen, entered my unitid and in "select map product", i've selected "custom mapset".
Than FID have to be 2204, PID 2 and for the RgnId and Venid a 0, right? So i generate the code.
Now what i'm supposed to do, so i can activate the "enhanced pedestrian mode"?
Where should i put the serial number/code and in which folder i have to put the "gmapsupp.img" file on the garmin device?

Enhanced pedestrian mode is for nuvi 1xxx series only, if you have this unit - place the map set in map folder inside the unit ( together with gmapsupp.unl file ), for older units ( 3 digit marked ) must be in Garmin folder, but i think is better to use unlocked mapset -> how to is here , insted to make gmapsupp.unl file

What is the gmapsupp.unl file, should i create it using a .txt file and than rename it that way and copy it along with the gmapsupp.img file in the same folder?
In the .unl file, should i paste the serial number, which i generated with the keygen to unlock the map?
I have a nuvi 1390 and there is no map folder, only a garmin folder in the root directory and a .System folder, which also doesn't have any map folder.
So where should i put those files?
Is there a guide telling you step by step how to do this, starting from the keygen, the actvation and everything?
Sorry for the questions, but i'm pretty confuse......

Just copy the gmapsupp.img file to your map directory, create a gmapsupp.unl file with notepad and copy the generated code into it (gmapsupp.unl).

Check this tutorial for detailed info.

    Trouble Installing Downloaded Maps

    Hi all,

I bought a Garmin 2455LMT and I am trying to install downloaded maps to run off the microSD card.

The maps I want to use are the CityXplorer maps for North America and Rome. The ones I downloaded are from:

Garmin CityXplorer Roma 2011.10 and CityXplorer North America 2012.30 (all the CityXplorers in one file) respectively.

The Rome CityXplorer is supposed to already be unlocked. For the sake of simplicity and easing the learning curve, this is the one I started with.

So I tried moving the IMG file on the SD card and checking under installed maps to see if it worked...no go. I tried renaming it to both Rome.img and GMAPSUPP.IMG...Neither worked. (Does it matter what it's called?)

Afterwards, I ran Fast IMG Unlocker v2.1 on it to see if it would make a difference...Also did not. I'm not sure what to try next.

    Thanks ahead for anyone's help.

    Joe
