Re: what is the cheapest garmin widescreen that can work with bluechart marine maps?
For your information: I can confirm that the Oregon 450(T) can use my 64 GB SDXC memory card. In order to use it you will need to reformat it with the FAT32 file system. This can be a bit tricky because Windows refuses to do this. I was able to format mine using my Android phone.
Side note: It is not likely that the total of 64 GB can be used for maps, because of the tile limit of the devices.
I downloaded the Spain Topo PRO v5 map from this forum (locked version), unlocked it with the gimgtools (also from this forum) and copied the unlocked img to my oregon 450. When connecting the gps and starting basecamp, I can see the map in full detail. When looking on my gps device, however, there is much less detail. Changing the map detail (in the settings menu) from normal to most, did not seem to change a lot. Any idea what can be the problem?
More general question: what's the difference between the locked and unlocked version of the download? I did not need to enter my unit id for unlocking, so it is not device specific.
ok lets make this double post more useful.
It seems that if I set the profile on my oregon to hiking, if tend to have a more detailed map, compared to mountainbiking. Just checked it near a mountainbike track I imported.
