where to download or to find it, if is it somewhere on my PC, and how and where to put Juntion View?????

Name of the map file for your pre-installed maps is "gmapprom.img"

I'm Not familiar with a Nuvi 40 dir structure but look around and you'll discover them, they would be in either of these 2 locations

gps:\garmin\gmapprom.img I think they are here in the 40/50
OR
gps:\.system\gmapprom.img (.system is a hidden folder on the GPS)

you must connect as mass storage to access the hidden .System folder on your device. Change from MTP mode doing like this:

2012 device are connected in MTP mode(Yellow connect screen image), all new models have this connection by default, you have to do like this:


Enter volume screen and pres the right up corner of the screen about 10sec
Devloper screen will popup, scroll down to MTP Settings
Change settings to Mass Storage
Shootdown and connect with your PC,
now you will have full acces to .System folder and other files.

I tried pressing every square inch of the volume screen and never did get to the developer screen.I did find the .system folder on the root of the nuvi40 by unhiding
system files/folders under view tab.

have a new Garmin 40.
Unfortunatelly needs to be software uploaded as keep freezing on Garmin logo.
Tried to find out but without any resault.

Anyone can help to find .gcd file ?
