Hi All,
You may have noticed that nüvis purchased in the US have a predominantly green top-of-screen UI. If you purchase a nüvi in Europe this UI changes to a nice blue color. Personally, I hate the green color on US nüvis.
2595LMT on amazon.com Amazon.com: Garmin nüvi 2595LMT 5-Inch Portable Bluetooth GPS Navigator with Lifetime Maps and Traffic: GPS & Navigation
2595LMT on amazon.co.uk Garmin Nuvi 2595LMT 5" Sat Nav with Europe Maps, Lifetime Map Updates and Traffic Alerts, and Bluetooth: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
Needless to say, Garmin matches unit ID's to country of purchase and updates the corresponding firmware. So there's no way I can switch the UI from green to blue through any kind of official channel.
Anyone have a safe hack for this?
Thanks,
Paul
I just got the 2595LMT and all is great with it.
One thing I do not like are the candy map symbols on the 2595LMT
Is there a way to replace these icons with STD ones?
Like you find on the 200 or 1300 series units.

We are taking about 2 different things here.
Green or Blue US or Europe is not the question here.
I am talking about the icons to add to a favorite.
see attachment.
These are not the STD icons you fine on other Garmin units.

Hey Guys,
I just aquired a Nuvi 2595LMT. I realize that it has free map updates, but already have the new map that I downloaded earlier. It was the unlocked 2013.20. I just wanted to put it on the sd card. I had a Nuvi 660 and they went in a Garmin folder. The 2595 has the map in the .system hidden folder. The file I want to put on the sd card is gmapsupp.img. Are there other files I would need to include on the sd card also so that all the features of the 2595 work properly? Also, what would I name the folder on the sd card? Any help much appreciated. NOTE: Do not have Base map or other Garmin programs installed and never used them before. Thank you in advance
What happened to the question I posted?

I'm not faliliar with the 2595 and I'm not sure how you created the routes in the GPX but this may help.
On my 765 when I put routes out there in a GPX file the devide does not automatically see and load them. I have to go to a rout screen (I can't recall exactly where) an the is an option to creat a new route (done manually at the GPS) OR "Import Route(s) from a file".
If I select the option to import from a file, it looks in all the GPX and displays a list (by name) of all the routes it finds. I then check of the ones I want to load and save and they get imported and will be available until I manually delete them.
I normaly make my custom routes using Mapsource and when they are sent to the GPS they get saved in a file named "temp.gpx".
Thanks for answering. Befor I had the 765 and no problems with "Import". I can do it the same way as you.
But on the 2595 I miss the "Import Function", that's why I don't know where and how to place the predefiend routes .gpx. I manage them in BaseCamp but a "send to device" will not really help.
