Hi
Anyone know how to update the Garmin Nuvi 220W.
I particularly want Ireland maps.
If someone can help.
Please.
You can free up some space on your Nuvi by removing some items.
Take a look at this : http://gpsunderground.com/forum/show...armin-Nuvi-350

Link
In the program, configure the downloads folder
Download the rar from post #2
Decompress the rar file
Click on DLC file.
In jDownloader wait for the decrypted link then click on "Continue".
That's all.
i have no garmin folder on the memory card.
i bought this memory card from a camera shop.
and it is empty by default.
Format the SD (FULL format, filesystem FAT32).
In the SD, you must create a folder named Garmin and put the gmapsupp.img file there.
garmin 200w
,i need some help please i got a garmin nuvi 200w from a car boot sale when i switch it on it boots up and then shows on screen this message,no detailed maps found that support the nuvi cannot be used without them
does anyone no what i have to do to get it going.....thanks
Should be a fairly easy problem to solve. Someone has deleted the detailed maps, you can put new maps in it just by copying a file or two. If you hook that 200 to a USB port and look in the Garmin directory, the detailed maps (if they exist... sounds like they are missing from yours) should be named gmapprom.img for the pre-installed maps (or gmapsupp.img for any additional maps). There should also be a basemap called gmapbmap.img (probably still there). You can also use windows explorer to tell you how much free memory is available in that thing (there should be a littl over a gig). If you look are looking at files with windows explorer make sure you have the view option set correctly so it is not hidding file extensions.
To test quickly and see that 200 it's actually working (it probably is):
You can download any gmapsupp.img from the map area of this forum and just copy it to the garmin directory of the 200 and it should now boot and work.
The only issue with the 200 is that it has limited internal memory so you need an img file small enough to fit. I think the 200 can take up to about 1.1 gig before it runs into problems.
What geographical area are you from?..... What kind of maps would you need for that (North America, Europe, Austrailia, Ireland, etc) ?
