GPSMAP 276/278
I have found some units for **** but I have some questions:
I would like to have both City Navigator Europe and Topo maps for Sweden and Finland installed at the same time.
Is this possible?
What type of extra memory is there for this unit?
I will use the device on a motorcycle.
Any other tips?

re: GPSMAP 276/278
yes, the CN map will be installed in the internal memory and the topo maps will be on the memory stick.
extra memory can be bought as special garmin sticks; very small (the biggest is 512 Mb) and ridiculous expensive.
has no sirfIII
the best device out there, still.

General questions about my garmin and maps
Hey guys, i have a quick question that im sure will be easy for most of you, but im new to this so bear with me for a second.
I downloaded the North America 2011.40 maps that gives me the .img file. That file is too big to fit in the biggest available card for the 276c.
My understanding was that with MapInstall i could upload parts of the map onto the card/gps. Also to be able to load this map in MapSource so i can plan my trip.
Now i can see from reading that i either need to break up the .img file with MapSetToolkit or find the Mapsource version of the NA 2011.40 (can anyone help me with a link to this ?)
So as i progress with my trip through North America i can then swap out the chunks of maps in my 512mb card with the one im in at the moment.
Does that sound correct ?
Any thoughts/opinions ?
Thanks
Mac

Re: General questions about my garmin and maps
First make sure it will read NT maps........I don't know that model
I checked....looks like it does........I think your best bet is to use the Mapsource version....you can make them any size you want...or any area
Yes you could swap them for what ever area you were in

Re: General questions about my garmin and maps
TCIII,..download the .gmap correctly. Loaded it up and installed with MapInstall. The 276c says can't unlock maps. They seem fine in Basecamp. Anything i am missing ?
thanks
