GMXT - Windows Mobile

I am using both iG08 and Garmin Mobile XT on my Windows Mobile Smartphone, and I find Garmin to be considerably slower, even with an overclocking app being used. The iGO8 is much faster, and I believe, more suitable for your 300mhz 64MB Mitac Mio 168 Pocket PC. Additionally, you can get 3d buildings on iGO8, which you cannot get with Mobile XT.

Garmin work very fine on Garmin device. My opinion it is the best program and devices for navigation was specializated to driver.
Mobile XT is for misfortune Garmin experiment with additional map marketing, due it we have public garmin unlock procedure...

Now that is a shame! ok then now thats settled, what about puting tomtom voices on the garmin? is it possible? also I have downloaded some vup voice files, where do I place them in order for them to work? the problem I have is that g-tones is not recognising my device in order to install them, so I am going to have to do it manually is it possible?

I do not know about the Tom Tom voices, but I can tell you how to install Garmin voices on your device.

When you have installed GMXT, you should have a folder called VOICE.
In there, you can place the .vpm files, but you must ensure that you use the 'default' file names.

i.e. for the 'Governator' voice, rename it to English_American_.vpm (exactly this). Obviously, first you must cut and paste your original english-amercian voice to another folder, and archive it for future use.

Hi! Is that possible to run MFM Garmin Map and 2010.30 Unlocked Region together on Windows Mobile PDA? Coz 2 map having same XXX.IMG file name??? Thanks!

Hello. I will go to Martinique in 15 days and I am looking for a GPS software tha runs on PDA with Windows mobile 5 with the map of the Martinique. Garmin Mobile XT seems to have one. Could you help me to find the software and map ? Or other software with Martinique ? Thanks in advance.

I have same problem but I don't the option/icom "manage" under Manage my data.
What version do I need of Gamrin MObile XT?

make sure you have patched your mapsource.
after you have transfer poi/route etc from mapsource to your device & when you restart gmxt, only then you can only see "Manage" in Manage My Data.
sometimes all you transfered poi/route is already copied without you noticed it, check again your My Locations, Routes etc.
