Just putting the straight donwload (unrar of course) into \Garmin\, the device will say "Cannot unlock Maps" after boot and tools -> settings -> myMaps only shows the preinstalled maps.
And you use .UNL file with locked map ??
With a Jetmouse 1.5 generated .unl file, the map unlocks and works !!
But the unlocker alternative for some reason doesn't work on my device with this map. I just tried some europe map with unlocker alternative 5.31b and it worked.
If you join Unlocked image with gmaptool
Open unlocked gmapsupp.img go join tab and remove unlock codes and put output file eg. GMAPPROM.IMG
there is something special characters in unlocked image, that is some THAI reverse map i think.. you can test
Put your unlock gmapsupp.img map in folder Map and ranamed to THAI.img (Map\THAI.img) and work perfect no .unl file need
Download and use this instead and your problems willl be solved...
Thailand StreetMap v10.1 NT [English].rar UNLOCKED
Extract the "Thailand StreetMap v10.1 NT [English].rar" file and rename "gmapprom.img" to "ThaiStreetMapNT.img".
Put the "ThaiStreetMapNT.img" into the "Map" folder on your nuvi 3790T.
mean. worked like charm............big thanx to you guys
Re: Unlocking GMAP3D.img
Firstly, I hope that this is the correct thread for this question.
Am I correct in assuming that the GMAP3D.img (that is for the Europe 2011.2 Maps which is locked) can be unlocked by using the unlocker Alternative?
I have placed the locked file in the required 'Locked Map' folder, run the unlocker and now have a file in the 'map unlocked' folder.
But the program has renamed the original named GMAP3D.img to GMAPSUPP.img. It is now just a case of renaming the unlocked file back to GMAP3D.img?
I hope that this is not deemed to be a silly question.
