Thanks again P33dro, following the unlocking of the garmin img files also the stripping of the Windows computer ID from the produced image works marvelous.
I was not aware that garmin adds the Windows ID to the img files.
    It is good knowing this.

Re: Remove Personal Data from image

I think you 3 posters above should be asking in GMapTool v0.8.186 - 16.1.2014 as it's OT here. But wot the heck! Compared to what happening elsewhere in this forum it's not even a hill o'beans.

Open your img file in GMapTool. Press 'Change' tab. Check the 'Map name' box and write your preferred name in the adjoining field. Press 'Change all' or 'Change selected and it's done.

For the mapset name: Press 'Write' tb. Check the 'Mapset' box and write your preferred name in the adjoining field. Press 'Write all' or 'Write selected' to save, but if it fails you can always use the 'Join' tab longer method.

Excellent help is available on board by pressing the '?' button from either the Files or Log tabs but really the UI is very intuitive.
