Are Rar Splited, select part 1 and extract the file you find inside the archive, it will extract in automatic other parts2/3/4.. and you will have a single IMG file, this file is the map to be copied in Device/SD
Thank you very much! It worked now! I have another question, I'm going to ask in Europe NT thread...
Thank you for the explanation.
I have installed the 2012 unlocked map as "gmapprom.img", installed and turned on the UK Speedcams and turned on TMC using the codes supplied all on my Nuevi1490T.
Many, Many thanks!
I have a question though; where do I copy the GMAP3D.IMG and Dxxxx.JCV files? Which JCV is most appropriate for my 1490T?
I downloaded and the unlocked gmapsupp.img file for Italy and copied it to the Garmin folder on the SD card in my Nuvi760. I can still only see the North American maps on my device.
Also, even though I successfully installed Mapsource on my PC, I have not been success in loading any downloaded file into Mapsource. Ihave only downloaded .img files and Mapsource odes not recognize them.
What am I doing wrong?
Stupid question... If Unlocked maps are Copy & Go... why would you want to bother with Locked maps? Is there an advantage to Locked Maps?
some member want the original file, and they will unlock by there self. Just to have more choice.
I'm new here in this forum and everything i read is really nice.

Hi! I'm also new here and didn't have any idea how to update my maps before this post. Thank you for the brief explanation but I still have some questions. I own Garmin GVN53 (the "black box") and I didn't have a map update for around 5 years on it.
I cannot post a new thread here as well yet, so I guess I'll ask couple of questions here and then will open a new thread in the Garmin devices section.
First, as far as I understood in order to get an update of the maps you have to connect the device to the computer, otherwise you cannot change the file names or replace existing files with a new ones, right? Now most of the Garmin devices have its own source of power but not mine. So should I have to connect USB cable together with the power cable running from the battery of my car or just the USB cable would be enough to access Garmin folders?
Second, It doesn't say for example in North American maps which devices it is compatible with. So would those maps work on GVN 53?
Thanks in advance!
