How to Update Maps on your Device

Read carefully:
In other garmin devices is not present the .System folder , all the maps will be inside Garmin folder, the same here gmapprom.img map is the original pre-installed map

gmapprom.img , gmapsupp.img , gmapprom1.img , gmapoem.img FOR OLD DEVICE NUVI 200,205.......GarminXT.......



New Garmin Series 14xx, 2xxx, 3xxx devices can put a name to whatever else you like: map of Europe, MAPAsia, etc.......


For JVC can not change the NAME

I was confused as I thought 1 degree > 2 degree < 3 degree > 4 degree > 5 degree where
u can place your map according to which is your priority and the GPS will process accordingly.

It is a series maps: first, second, third NOT 1 degree, 2 degree, 3 degree

GMapTool v0.8.067 is able to merge all the map. However, how will it handle the JCV. For example, MSM NT and MFM have their own JCV files.

You need to know that there JCV that are locked for other devices.
Example if you buy the Nuvi in America you can not use the JCV Singapore or Thailand.

You can use the map but not the JVC that are locked onto a specific device firmware

In my SD card, I have the old "gmapsupp.img" file in the garmin folder and a VFS file in the root of SD card
Do I need VFS file when the latest gmapsupp.img is loaded?
