HELP.....NO VOICE COMMAND

hi everyone, could someone help me how to install voice command on my nuvi 3490.
My unit is bought in middle east and for some reason there is no voice command option
in the settings. maybe there is a tweak in able for me to install the application.

About that

VOICE COMMAND - ASR Folder
In this folder will find the files that enable the Voice Command on your device. Not all the models have this feature, so if the your device don’t support it you don’t have to do this update.
ASR files are different for different Map versions, if you update the map you have to update the ASR files too. Different version of maps - EXP. CN Europe NT and CN Europe NTU have 2 different Set of files and have to use the right one to have Voice Command enable.
These files are XXXX.ASR and XXXX.SRX, delete all previous ASR and SRX files and copy the new one, you can have more than one version of Voice Command files in ASR folder, EXP. Can have European ASR and American ASR in the same time.
Important: You don’t have to rename these files, just use like they are.

To update this feature copy ASR+SRX files in

• Device:\.System\ASR Folder - for NEW models with hidden .System folder.
• Device:\Garmin\ASR Folder - for the other models with no hidden .System folder
• SD:\Garmin\ASR Folder - for all the models

It's important to complete this info with that:

Voice files are compatible only if you choose to change the same "ENTIRE" OLD MAP by the same new map

Example: Euro MAP with 45 Countries need to be replaced by an new EURO MAP With 45 Countries !!!

If you creat your own map with not the same list of Countries, even you put the right ASR files, Voice command will not working !!!

Usually people with ASR devices make a full update (Full map/JCV/ASR/3D) thats why havent been noted this particular problem.

But i dont understand why we cant use voice command with smaller card,
why garmin offer tool to creat smaller card but with losing some functionnalities ? (just one in this case)

im interested to know if the 2455 models or other garmin products with only 25 countries
have voice command and which ASR files they use

I recently got a nüvi 3790T and went to myGarmin website to update the North America map to CNNA 2013.10.

After that, the VOICE COMMAND does not work !

The update was ok, except for the fact that the process did not update the map files into my computer, as one of the update options suggested.

How can Imake sure all files were proprer updated ?

Are there any suggestions on how to fix this ?

In addition: can someone help me in understanding where are (if there are any) the commands to activate the "Voice Command" process ? And how to change the key-to-start phrase ?

You can not use new Voice Comand files with old maps, when you update MUST have new map/3D/JCV/ASR/G2S/DB files, all from the same mapset.

I was expecting that myGarmin would update not only CNNA2013.10 but all the corresponding files into the 3790T.

Aparently, it did NOT.

I need to go back to the process some point in the future.

I only have one question for which i didn't menage to find an answer here on forum.

What is SID folder for, and can i put it on SD card? I have 1.05GB files in it, and don't know if i need them on my Garmin 2455LM.

Where do I find the time zone file ... gmaptz.img
I looked at the thread on 2013 file but did not see the time zone. Thanks
