The new 2012 models are MTP Devices. That is why when you conect them to your PC they are listed in Other devices in My Computer. And it doen´t show the System Folder and are not recognice by Mapsource. What we have to do is, in the GPS go to Volumen, then hold the upper right corner a few seconds and it will show a hidden menu. Go to MTP Setting and choose Mass Storage or Mass Storge Single Session. Conecte the GPS to computer and now it shows up in My Computer as a removable disk and everything is accesible as usual. Including useing it in Mapsource.

Can someone help me please. I own the 3590, how can i see the system folder? Do i have to be on (WHERE TO SCREEN) to see the volume screen? I was not be able to figure out....
i have nuvi 3450. I try to backup gmapprom.img in the .system folder and copying to desktop. But every time i copy & paste to desktop, the gps disconnect itself. It won't allow me to copy. Please help in backing up. Thx
Solved: I had to rename gmapprom.img to gmapprom1.img then i can copy&paste to desktop.
