Webber-XX,
The Afghanistan Maps I got from a lot of searching. It took me a few hours to get the 2010 version I wanted. I am not in the best location to upload anything but as soon as I can I will get them up on Rapidshare for you.
Garmin 62s
8Gb Micro SD
What do you mean by "older units"?? I have a nuvi1300 that i just bought and i can´t get it to read any other name of .img files from SD but gmapsupp.img,
can anyone please confirm if this is posible (nuvi reading multiple maps with different names from SD) , and if so, can u please share the way how you do this?
thanks
Since I don't have a 1300 I can only tell you what I have read at another forum. For the different names to work the map should be in the /Map-folder and not the /Garmin-folder. If the /Map folder does not exist you have to create it first. Try this and please report back here.
The newer units refer to the 3xxx and 14xx models for a start plus a few others these units have the ability to have multiple maps in their onboard memory and multiple maps named whatever you want on an SD card, but must end in .img I use a 3790 and have Europe America and Mid east in the unit plus 3 other maos on an SD card, but this is not possible on "older" model units even if you did just buy it.
Iam from india. I like to combine indian maps from different vendors...like
1. Map my india
2. Sat guide
3. City Navigator India
what if i combine all these maps together. will it show properly since all three maps cover the same regions.
Or will there be any overlapping errors.
I know how to work with gmaptool to combine maps or use it for mapsource.
Iam planning to use this on a KENWOOD EXCELON DNX 6960 WITH INBUILT GARMIN HARDWARE.
Thanks
