How to install and create a map with Original Mapsource Locked

HI, could anyone tell me how to find the unlocked ISO file of the (Mapsource) city maps.

Thx for great explanation. I am stuck at step 1:
Where can I find the „Update MSI file“ to install new map in Mapsource?
It looks like it should be on the original installation DVD. But ist not on mine. On my DVD there are a the usual folders such as „City Navigator Europe NT 2011.10.gmap“ and others and a number of .msi file such as CNEUNT2011.10_SKY.msi and others. But nothing with „update“.

I guess I can skip this step 1 anyway, but am a bit scared to kill my brand new Garmin device.

You can skip step 1 this way, copy "City Navigator Europe NT 2011.10.gmap" folder in
Copy GMAP folder in
(in XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GARMIN\Maps)
(in Vista, Windows 7 - C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps)
Run Mapsource and you will find the map locked. Go ahead with unlock.

I think you can run CNEUNT2011.10_SKY.msi and will have same result of step 1

ive unlocked map succesfuly, i wanted to push it directly to the internal memory of my nuvi 1390, but it says there is only 800 mb free space. i searched for map file, gmapporm.img enabled search for hodden files and no success. is it possible to use the internal memory or it has to be on sd card. thanks

The folder with pre-installed files is hidden, go in Folder Options and select show hidden files and folders and uncheck "Hide Protected operating systems files" this way you will find the .System folder with all map files and other files and folders.

ok thanks for the super fast reply, now i see the image, im copying to hdd, 70 mins. left :S

when i delete it after, do i need to delete other files to push new map with map source ? Thanks!

No is enough this one, you are using original or unlocked Mapsource?

ive downloaded the crcked exe, mathes my version. it was toghether with the map in the torrent ive downloaded, ~8 gb

I think you have not understand what i asked.....anyway dont send your map in device but in your HDD probably in C:\Garmin folder, it will be named gmapsupp.img, use this tool to remove GMA protection and have a full unlock after copy the map in your device(your device have GMA protection)
