Be aware that these voices will not say street names via the text to speech. Instead of "turn left to Main Street" it'll just say "Turn Left"

I prefer having the Jedi, or Sith, or ET and or Homer Simpson saying...."in 800 meters turn left" instead of saying turn left on "coppernicus majorus camporas street". by the time I get get to the turn, i am so irriatated by the voice (james hettfield himself could be saying it) repeating the street name over and over again

Can sb please confirm that these work on Garmin Mobile XT installed on Windows Mobile

I followed all instructions, and Garmin still doesn;'t see the voices in settings. I only see the default ones. The vehicles are ok.

To be more specific.

Copied the vpm files in Voice folder
Used key generator: put in the Software Unit ID i found in About in garmin
Selected custom mapset, 480 22 / 23 0 0
generated the .UNL files, copied them in the Voices folder, where I also put the vpm files

Garmin still sees only the default languages

two things
1. does the created .unl file really have a .unl or a .unl.txt extention "a lot of people miss this one"
2. does the voice file name match the .unl file name " upper case lower case everything must match"
those are the main reason alot of maps and other files dont work correctly

thanks for the reply, but the unl files have no .txt extension , and everything matches
I have even tried lower case .unl and upper case .UNL i don't know if there is any difference

On my phone's memory (not microSD card where I installed Garmin), there is also a folder named Garmin, and inside among other files there is one called ERRLOG

i found this inside (just a part of the whole text):

There is no mention of Garmin Mobile XT or WinMo on the links you provided. If nobody managed to get custom voices on Winmo, than it could be incompatible. It didn't work for me anyway.

EDIT: I tried to copy one of the free voices (Dr. Nightmare) and the device cannot see it. This leads me to believe that Winmo GMXT is indeed incompatible with these files.
