Where can I read up on sat nav

I would like to read up on sat nav so that the terms rt3, non c-iq mean something to me. At present it is all mumbo jumbo. Can somebody recommend a book that explains the system in fairly simple terms.

There is no book
Most systems are brand related with the exception of VDODayton, Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine and Blaupunkt
