I’ve recently installed iGo Primo 2.0 on my DVD/Nav system. OS: Win ce 6.0, Res: 800x480.
It runs perfectly as expected and I’m enjoying its features.
Going a step further I wanted to connect a GNS RDS/TMC receiver (with micro-USB hub) to my device in order to be able to receive live traffic info,
but the system doesn’t realize the receiver. I’ve been playing around with sys.txt file including these lines, which I found in another thread:
(Igo primo 1.2 TMC)
I tried changing the port name, as I’m not sure about the micro-USB port. I've also unticked the online traffic option in the settings to avoid receiving
online info from the web (through 3G or WIFI connection), but none of these make any difference in realizing the RDS/TMC receiver.
Are you sure that the Myguide TMC receiver is compatible with your system because some receivers are device specific. For example I have two Royaltek TMC receivers which appear to be identical but they are not interchangeable between my Wayteq X990 and Dragon Pearl GPS500 devices.
First of all, tell seller to ask manufacturer is UART TTL available on that motherboard, if TTL isn't available, forget on TMC, cause all usb tmc recievers use TTL for communicaton with PNA through min usb port... Most of that chinese devices don't have opened TTL... Put TMC.exe or tmcdemo.exe on your device or some tool for testing GNS ,you can find them google.com, and test is there any communication between TMC and MB...
Ask seller of that TMC for default values for tmc port and baud rate... But like i wrote above, main thing is opened TTL on MB, othewise no communication between MB and TMC, and you'll need to modify mini usb port on MB, to change pin outs to be able see connection TMC <-> MB.
If there is ok connection, then you'll need appropriate gpstmc.dll in primo folder, kener from mobilepassion.org created thread on mobilepassion.org for all these gpstmc dlls
OK! Thanks for the clue.
I just ran tmcdemo.exe on my device.
Selecting different ports, finally with COM2, and baud rate 9600, the software got connected. But then nothing else happened. I do not really know what I should expect after running tmcdemo.exe and getting connected? When I click on FM operation scan, nothing shows up. The Get version button shows nothing especial, and the RDS Info is also not active. I just know there’s something different in this port than other ports since when selecting other ports, the software does not connect. Could this possibly mean that there is a connection between USB port and MB? Or what you called it open TTL?

Don't quote post if you answer just one post above your, that's rule of everyone forum.
COM2, 9600 are values of your gps reciever, not TMC reciever, that notification of connection is for GPS reciever, tmcdemo doesn't see your TMC reciever, cause connection of your usb tmc reciever with mb doesn't work ok.
Expectation is to see is there connection usb tmc reciever - mb, in you case, connection doesn't work.
Your main problem is communicaton usb tmc reciever -> mb, when you solve this problem, you can go further... Now you are sure that you have this problem with connection, and you have to solve firstly this thing, and then to continue...
You can't see any info on fmd, rds, cause like i told, your connection usb tmc - mini usb on mb, doesn't work... Com port 2 is detected from MB gps reciever, it doesn't have some relation to TMC.
No, your connection doesn't work. You have to speak with manufacturer about using TTL on that device, or changing wiring pin outs, to be able see usb tmc reciever on UART TTL.
