I have a 128Mb ram unit with 2Gb internal memory. There is no sd card slot. I currently have both programmes on the unit and tend to use whichever takes my fancy that trip. However, I am going on a trip where I need a few maps and pois and I have to delete one programme to free up space. I do not use dem files. I have not been able to get one programme to read the maps and pois from the other by adding lines to sys file to free up space that way. I know it personal taste and each has advantages over the other but if you had to chose one of the programmes only which would it be? Your feedback will make me decide.
Thanks for replies. I'm going to give keeping both programmes but sharing maps and pois another go. Remember both are on internal memory and I have no sd card slot. Is it easier for igo to share primo maps and pois or primo to share igo's. If igo is sharing primo do i still need a map and a poi folder in igo even if they are empty? And finally, the big question - what lines do I enter in sys files to enable eg igo for it to detect primo map and poi folders?
You said in post #1 that you wanted to free-up space so why in the world are you keeping two programs? One should do the trick. You've seen that iGO8 is the choice. Also, the forum is full of posts that tell you how to share content.
Yes, fair points indeed. At the moment I have igo with maps and pois and also primo with maps and pois. I was going to get rid of one programme with its maps and pois to free up space. But using igo with maps and pois but also having primo programme (as a backup) but sharing igo maps and pois means that primo programme uses hardly any hard disk space hence I'll keep it as a back up to igo. Again, yes there are lots of posts about sharing content but as far as I can see they are for units with sd card slots and mine has no sd card slot. I have also read that you can't share igo and primo maps and pois when both programmes are on internal memory. Others say you can but don't say what the sys file commands are
I'm ready to be corrected here but the sys lines I've seen in forums and changing from sd card to flask disk don't work and others have fedback the same. But saying that you're right I should just make do with one anyway
