    Chinese Gps Startup Problems

    Hi Guys

I wonder if anybody can shed any light as why my gps will not startup
the information i have is :-

Microsoft Windows CE GPS on opening screen
then when you go into Satnav main menu
and click on "Navigation" i get the following error "progam application database cannot be found"

If i go into System/Sys info i get, processor SIRF Atlas -V, Platform 00.5.02, Ram Size 128MB, Flash Size 4GB
    App Ver 110118.1516 QC01.MLC, OS VerN110325E11032501103051130
    Im running IGO8 ver 8.3.5.193799...and Navteq 2012,Q1
i have a 8 GB SDMMC card installed into unit, and i can set
the path to Navigation Software, and get two options :-

    \Resident Flash\Opera Mini 5\IGO8\IGO8.exe,and IGO8.exe also inside IGO8 folder ?
    \SDMMC\IGO8\IGO8.exe inside folder ?

Please see attached files for folder contents etc
i suspect my paths are wrong, unless i have a corrupt file

    Many Thanks in advance

It appears that your iGO8 program is on the SD card - that's fine. Was the other [from the manufacturer] also on the SD card? What is the path to it? Just rename the path to igo as was the other navigation program. Also, I don't think you need all the extra extension files in content\map. FBL should be quite sufficient.

    hi duffer
thanks for coming back on my query, i dont have a one from the manufacturer
as that was overwritten with a earlier vers of navteq when i first subscribed
to the forum, at that time i did not have a sdcard, only memory in the unit
so now it appears i have two copies of same navteq version in unit and
sdcard, is this recoverable by any kind of utilities, or am i screwed
    with unusable unit ???

You're not completely screwed. But now you know to back up first before you proceed to anything. Plus putting on the SD card is much preferable. Go to your internal drive and look for the path to your old navigation program that they first installed. Then rename your exe on the SD card the same name as the path exe.

Hi duffer I got your last post, could you give a line by line example of what you mean about
paths internal drive and SD card ?

And with respect I think I'm still screwed, as you pointed out I should have backed up
the old navigation program they installed which I dont have, just later downloads
off the forum site, which I accept was my responsibilty
    Thanks for your tolerance

Internal drive is the device's own files/folders when you plug it in to the USB port on your computer. SD card will probably have another letter drive as a removable device. Example of a path might be MioMap\MioMap\igo.exe which the program has to find to operate. Yours might say mobilenavigator.exe as another example. Simply rename it to the exe of the program.

So. If you want to try iGO on your device, you should put on it iGO8 or iGO Primo .. clean. No Other stuff with bla bla bla ok ?
