Re: igo installation on sony nv-u93t

    Hi
Can someone please help me here....
My GPS unit is not been recognised by lapto. is there any other way to connect GPS unit (add harware etc or by c command somthing) and somehow copy the old original map back onto GPS unit?
Or is there a way to bypass GPS loaded IGO and run the GPS from the memory card first so that i can reset the language error.
I had the direction from this site but it was not clear and i got my GPS in this shape.
As on today, I can not start the GPS unit (language error), can not get GPS connected to laptop (win7 and winxp any of them) and thus can not reload the original map ...

YES, Igo 8 and Primo is working in Sony nav-u.
You can't use bluetooth option from device.
I will come back soon with a diagram how to install Igo on this gps.

Excellent learn, I simply passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little analysis on that.

Re: car dealers michigan Sterling Heights

I too have a Sony Nav U 93 - I have got Igo Primo up and running thanks to these forums - however [as with others] I can't get the unit to pick up the GPS signal.
I believe that the correct settings are Port 5 / Baud 57600 from what I have read here, but I've not been able to find this info anywhere else to verify it.
I have tried changing the port number - but as there are so many possible combinations of Port / Baud, proceeding on a trial and error basis seems a bit futile.
If anyone can help with the GPS I will then post the file structure & Sys.txt for the rest of you guys.
For those above who have said they can no longer 'see' the unit on their PC - load windows mobile device center [or equivalent], plug the unit in via USB then reset it - it should then [eventually] flash up 'system' on the unit and appear in the device center. This worked for me - hope it does for you. Good luck.

Re: car dealers michigan Sterling Heights

I have discovered that the original GPS settings used in the Sony software are Port 3 / Baud 38400 - but this isn't picked up either.
I installed a different version of Primo - same result.
I installed an older version of IGO from 2009 that I ran on a different unit that was stolen - same result, even though this version has an auto detect function to find the GPS - it doesn't.
Yet the GPS still works with the original Sony software - so I can only assume that for some reason this particular unit is not compatible with IGO ? Unless someone has a better idea.
In the meantime I'm going to see if I can get Garmin to run on it - and will report back later. Thanks to all.
