I have iGo 8.30 working great on my Navman sat nav with maps and pois. If a mobile phone has Android v1.6, and the phone has a big free memory, can I just copy the iGo software and maps I need on to the phone and adjust the sys file with the correct screen size? Is it that simple?
Also, if the phone is a pay as you go with no internet use (phone has wifi but I don't want to pay for internet through mobile network provider) then I take it that the iGo will run through the build in gps and as such not incur any internet useage costs?
you will have to install the .apk file to install igo. However I dont believe you can adjust the screen size via the sys.txt, hence why people on here have problem with large screen phone like the desire and have to use a different version.
As for internet, just disable the internet connection and then you know your fine.
Im running igo on a HTC HD2 which is currently dual booting win mo and android and niether of them use an internet connection.
Sorry, but I'm going to need a step by step here. It's the apk file I'm having trouble with. I have copied the Igo folder the phone sd card but I can't find the apk file nor will android allow me to open the igo.exe file from the sd card using the phone's android (1.6) packageinstaller.apk I can't copy anything into the phone internal memory as when I try through the phone itself all files are protected and read only.
As an update I downloaded an igo version for android from this site. It had the 800x480 apk file and that installed ok on my phone and loaded but of course it's far too big for my phone which is 320x480. Can someone please upload the 320x480 apk file for igo or primo?
