Hello, I hope someone has an answer for me. I have a Magellan 5175T-LM that I hate. So I installed Primo 2.4, lovin it. However I cant seem to get the traffic to work. Can anyone tell me what files I need and what settings I need to change.
TMC settings are device specific, so you need to know which are the correct values for your device (source, port number and baud rate) which you must add into primo sys file. I think your best option is that you first install iGO8 --> go to TMC settings and try auto detection of your hardware (Primo doesn't have that option). If iGO8 will successfully recognise TMC hardware it will automatically save it's configuration into system.ini file which you'll find in iGO8\save\ folder. It should look like this:
note: this values are from different device, so it's just a sample for you!
When/if you get proper values from iGO8, finally just copy them into Primo sys file and TMC should work. And also check that you have TMC files in \Primo\content\tmc\ folder, otherwise program can't lock and check TMC stations. Also, do not forget to connect device into 12V when using and testing TMC hardware - I know from personal experiences, that most devices require constant power source for TMC. I'm not sure about Magellan but anyway..
I cannot seem to get any version of igo 8 to run. I renamed the igo.exe to iboot.exe just like primo but device wont boot. Any ideas?
Yeah same happening to me too. Cant make any igo 8 run on Dynavin d99 wince6.0. It wont boot at all. Wanted to use iGo8 so I can get device's details about tmc and gps so I can copy and paste those details on newer version of Igo which working perfectly btw just there is no tmc.
Please be more specific. What do you mean by "it won't boot at all"? iGO8 doesn't start and/if you get an error message? Did you tried with any other iGO8 version? I newer had any problems running iGO8 on wince 6.0. AFAIK Dynavin devices (wince based) runs on standard ARM cpu architecture so there shouldn't be any conflict.
