I would like to know if is it possible to install/run IGO 8.3 on a GPS using WinCe 5.0. My GPS use Destinator software presently.
- Instructions ?
- Download Link (Software and map for North America) ?
I can tell for sure its possible, just hack the device to come into the windows environement and install it from there using the device browser, should work same as installation interface in windowsXP or anything similar. Maps ? Well, they are lying all around the net, all you need to do is pick the mup from floor.
Will test a Medion 150 tonight without any hack ( just like with the mio story only difference shoud be naming off the igo8.exe and placing the file on flash )
I would like to know aswell how to on a MIO Moov 310 :-)
I have a gps with CE 5 and IGO on it. When I removed the temporary GPS software and put the IGO8.3 on there, all looked ok but when I went to start the gps again, it comes up with a message about changing the navigation path. anyone come across this issue?? thanks
i installed IGO8 and when i ran it it gave me a fatal error saying "Initialization error: no language files were found." I installed a language pack but still wont work...maybe i got the installation path wrong or i am doing something wrong, can somebody help??? Igo8 opens up really small on the upper left hand corner of the screen, can i fix this? i also need to know if someone can help me download the us maps from somewhere or send a link, been looking everywhere for them and cant find them! Thanks in advance
i have TakeMS ROute43 navigation, based on WinCE5 and iGO 8...
I've downloaded the new iGo 8.3 - and want to upgrade it - but i need to change path in mainshell.ini ...
Now - how do i enter the WINCE system?
When i start device, i directly boot onto menu chere i can just change language, or set time, AND enter navigation (with predefined path/exe)... I tried holding down the power button for 10 secs, as i read somewhere but nothing happens... Any ideas what to do?
Connect your unit via mass storage by usb cable.
Use windows explorer and click on your Mio.
Go to program files/mainshell.
You will find mainshell.xml and mainshell.ini
Use notepad - open them and check the execution path of your new software.
Follow the same sequences - write over the mspath.
Then save and reboot your system
You may need to change the png icon for your new software.
Check the size of the png file inside - replaced as accordingly
