After copying the contents you need to modify the permissions on files; to do this, open iFile on your idevice, first enable "Hidden Files" under the settings of iFile to see the .System folder, then browse to the folder "var\mobile\Applications\[APP DIR]\garmin-nav.app\storage-usa/W Europe\.System" and adjust the following:

Ownership:
Owner: mobile; Group: mobile

Access Permissions:
User: Read, Write, Execute
Group: Read, Execute
World: Read, Execute

Tap done and head for the road!

(now use garmin download from apptracker are not work, i got notification authentication failure, must buy originall apps from appstore)

you can install firewall ip and block garmin from authenticating to the servers and it will work fine.

if u don't want to install firewall ip for just one program then add following two lines to the hosts file in /etc

127.0.0.1 www.garmin.com
127.0.0.1 gold.garmin.com

Thanks, works fine (mexico ipa), but I have some problem with voice feature, I can not hear anything, and when I check "navigation voice" is empty...any idea?

UPDATE: I changed the permission files to voices, after reboot now is working fine :-)

Correct me if I am wrong.

I have installed the application via the normal itunes method.

Then I have used iFile and adjusted the permissions in the above .system folder ( do I do this for all files within or just one)

When I goto open the application is gets the the inital garmin splash screen then disappears, I have uninstalled reinstalled several times and checked permissions etc and all seem correct.

Within this folder var\mobile\Applications\[APP DIR]\garmin-nav.app\storage-usa/W Europe\.System

There are several *.img files do I apply the above permissions changes to all or all + the item within the SID folder.

Hello, I did download the benelux map and it is working THANKS !!!!

Now, I would like to upload my own map.

I did generate a file gmapprom.img using Gmaptool.
I did rename the file gmapprom.img into .System to a another name
I copy my own file gmapprom.img into .System, set the permission

But when I launch the application and go to parameters -> my maps (in fact it i shown in french on my device), no map is listed .

Do you have an idea of what I did wrong ?

You can download it directly from garmin here is the URL: http://www8.garmin.com/software/Garm...emap_4xxxx.exe

Its a setup file that extracts the world basemap to your memory card/flash drive, so you need to insert a removable device while running the setup file.
An alternative is to extract the above file using "7zip" and copy the "gmapbmap.img" from "GMobileCard\Garmin"
