    Sorry it it is a silly question, but what do you mean by "connect PenDrive to usb" ? if you put GPI files in sdcard, what should I have to put in the PenDrive to make un update?

    This may seem strange, but when U make data update from SDcard then radio (system) saves an xml file on a pendrive. If there is no flash drive connected, then the radio shout about the lack of drive or something of similar importance.

    Re: Map update on dnx5280bt

    OK, I begin to understand that I can't or simply don't know how to update files in the internal memory.
    So I put in the Sd card a garmin folder with the gmapsupp.ima and gmap3d.ima and another folder named POI to put the gpi files an Cyclops. In the sd card root I put another folder with jcv files. Everything work perfectly except the gpi files and the Cyclops files. Am I doing something wrong?
    Does any one know the internal structure files in DNX 5280BT?
    Another thing: and to update de basemap? I managed to upgrade with the 5.01 on my nuvi 760 but can't do it on my kenwood 5280 wicth have 2.00 version.
    Thanks people

    Copy gpi file eg. "poi.gpi" to SD/CD/USB depending on your system in the folder Garmin->Poi->Poi.gpi file
    Which medium you need look below, so is the structure:

    Medium SD/CD/USB
    |->Garmin (folder)
    |....|->Poi (folder)
    |....|....|->Poi.gpi (file)

    Swich your system navigation and place SD/CD/USB into Kenwood system in order it use your POI's. The system will now recognice that an update is available and will ask for conformation. Please confirm, the file will be uploaded to the internal memory of your system.

    Tabe of medium:

    microSD:
    DNX:
    5260BT, 520VBT

    SD:
    KNA:
    G420, G421, G421V, G520, G620T
    DNX:
    7200, 7220, 7260BT, 8220BT, 9240BT, 9260BT, 9280BT

    CD:
    DNX:
    DNX5220(BT), DNX5240(BT), DNX7240BT

    USB:
    DNX:
    4280BT, 4210BT, 5280BT, 5210BT, 521VBT, 7280BT, 7210BT, 9210BT

    If sombody ask about update of basemap, then I say a didn't do this, but if sombebody want to do it, then basemap file must be in Garmin folder. Remember, if your system work properly is not recommended to make any changes. This operation may damage the your system. Remember : any changes in the system executes the at your own risk !

    Hi, thanks for all the detailed information you gave.
    I have a dnx5280bt and tried all methods: cd, USB and sd but none seem to work.

    With the sd I have to take off the screen and the system will the reboot so that will not help.
    Cd and USB both do the same, keeps saying reading in the bottom and it stays there.
    Nothing pops up to install my poi...

    I have the folders as you deserved straight from the poi loader tool.

    Any idea?

    Thanks!
